Pau Pau Beach

Pronounced "pow pow" is a long, sandy beach. There are many picnic pavilions and a playground. The North side of the beach has large lava rocks which surround many more small isolated beaches. A recent archeological dig on the South side of the beach uncovered artifacts and human bones from the pre-latte times, perhaps 1,500 years old.
