8th World Piano Pedagogy Conference

Celebrating EXCELLENCE in Independent Teaching
Patti Nyien and Angela Hewitt
The 8th World Piano Pedagogy Conference was held this year at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.  One of the highlights of this conference was the concert performed by Pianist Angela Hewitt.  In 1985, Angela won the Toronto International Bach Piano Competition.  Angela has been called "the pre-eminent Bach pianist of our time"(The Guardian, London, 2001), and "nothing less than the pianist who will define Bach performance on the piano for years to come" (Stereophile, 1998).  Angela has performed throughout North America and Europe as well as in Japan, Australia, China, Mexico and the former Soviet Union.

Angela Hewitt gave her performance on a 10' 2" Fazioli piano.  A unique feature on this marvelous piano was a 4th pedal.
