The Native Americans Lakota Sioux from the Black Hills of South Dakota have a prophecy about the White Buffalo Calf.
It is told that nearly 2,000 years ago, a Medicine Woman, called the White Buffalo Woman came to the Black Hills, bringing the sacred peace pipe.
She stayed several days, teaching sacred ceremonies and other teachings. She promised to return and said that the return of the white buffalo would mark the time when she would again come purifying the world.
This will mark a time of balance, and spirituality and a time when harmony will return.
On August 7th, 2001 another white buffalo was born on a ranch in Michigan.
