NEWS & MESSAGES
Hi there,
its so nice to be able to link up, thanks to everyone responsible (Nella for the idea, Uncho a.k.a Andy for creating the site, everyone for mailing). Uncho, manuia au suega suga.
I signed up etc but didnt have time to send an email coz im kinda busy with my new job (well, new'ish, Ive been with Greenpeace for 9 months now but the whole international environmental NGO business + issues are so complex you still feel so faavalevalea even after all this time) and thats part of the reason Im in Germany (Bonn) right now observing/learning international negotiations (on Climate Change). the politics is so interesting. Suga, faakoa maua a lea o le gu'u ga ou fagau ai - me and le koalua o Julie. (Where is your hubby from Julz? not that I will know if its outside of Bonn but anyway..;-)  hard to believe that some of the most horrendous crimes and events in history happened here.
Im married to a kama Fiki (well e le o se fiki akoa ao le fasi fiki so e le meauli, phew ha ha) He is really great. Im happy and thats important.  I guess life is good. Im doing what I want to do (working for a good cause with the great organisation that is Greenpeace) and Im where I want to be (oh and I travel lots to Europe, ha ha). Thank God for all that. Didnt think it was possible in what i thought 9 months ago was a crazy world.
Ia pei lava ua umi kele lau meli but I probably wont be able to log on again next week as I think I will be very busy so TOO BAD you'll have to put up with it.
I work for Greenpeace Australia-Pacific but Im based in Suva so please please if anyone comes to Suva, give me a call (mobile 9922133). Our main office is in Syd so i go there almost every month, so is anyone based in Sydney?? I was so excited to see Lapu and Litara just recently, made me realise how great Samco years were and how I felt safe and comfortable with everyone in our class and not just my friends and those I was close with. Things were different when most of you guys went off to NZ and Australia and we had to go to USP in Fiji. No offence Uncho or any other USP but i didnt know who to trust there (well I was also a strong believer in Murphy's Law so it seemed everyone was out to screw me over) the sad thing is that Im convinced that lifestyle is cultured in the USP environment. or not - my crazy views/theories.
Ia suga, se'i rea Peleka. there is a party going on right now (Sat) and there are no sessions tomorrow so here's my chance to drink a few german beers, fall down a few times and make a fool of myself in front of people I will be seeing again all of next week - I can hardly wait ;-) ha ha ia o ai e krea a ea? kei lava ua oki sesi kaeao e lei faia uma mea o legei olaga.
love you all and Im happy weve linked up.
PS Do you guys remember Des that passed away in Form 4? I dont know why but he just came to my mind RIGHT now and I had to type that. spooky.. kalofa e a? wonder what he would be doing if he were alive.
ciao

Talofa lava to all!

First and foremost, faafetai tele lava Uncho for the initiative with this website...its a great idea! Next I have to apologize since my name seems to appear twice on the Member List. The thing was that your messages werent able to be read at my paradise address so i had to re-register using my hotmail address...Uncho if you can, faamolemole delete lau profile under 'Tasha' and I'll just use 'Tash' since I can access the messages with that one....ia faamalie atu ona o le vasti foi o lenei tagata....

Anyway, I'm still here in Wellington working with the Samoa High Commission and its nice to see that contact has been made with all our fellow classmates around the world. My contract expires in January 04 but we might be getting extensions for another year, not really sure yet. Other than today's terrible weather, nothing is really new here at the moment. Mel's here as well so as you guys can imagine, we get together whenever we get the chance...hey and we're still dancing too!!!! Tiga ona matutua ae le mafai lava ona tuu le fia siva!!! hahaha..
Uncho, I'll be posting some pics of my son some time soon and i hope everyone else does the same with their children or significant others...alofa tele atu ia outou uma...toe fetoai atili.

Hi People,
Great to hear from those long lost voices of the class of 93.

Se malo Shirley taumafai mai le environment. You should talk some sense to that French gal Pat re: the nuclear testing. By the way how long would you be in Bonn? (as if I know whereabout of G it is) My hubby and I with the 2 boys will be there in the beginning of July for 4 months. Sei kau faamasagi kamaiki i le lakou piko Hitler! We'll be staying near Hamburg in a small town called Otterndorf with my mother in law. But 'am interested to see if we can meet!

Malo Tasha, how old is your little one now? I don't know how you working Moms survive with little rascals around. You and Mel should come up to Ham to celebrate with Rina and I our school Jub!

Uncho, we should definitely have a Mother's Corner where we (Moms) can discuss topics such as breastfeedingh(haha), child development, discipline as perhaps that would help new Moms(Isa) and of course the singles(eg Rinzo) kalofa e! Just a thought! Or if we are brave enough we can share about our birthing experiences a ea Isa.
Seeing my fellow classmates succeed in their own fields makes me very proud of them. Malo lava le taumafai.
Shirley, do you remember how you wrote "Shirl" somewhere in Mr Jacobs lab. When I taught at SamCo in 2000 I reminded him, oka na o le ata lava o le tamaloa. Who would have thought that this gal would end up defending the environment when she herself ruined it before hahaha.

Se Tonuu ua lava le vaaiga o na tupe. Kou fefefe kele ia Tui
Wishing Pat a safe trip to Samoa with her small one. I know Pat, its very, a a different travelling with a bundle, you don't enjoy the inflight entertainment.

Apologies it its too long, but you know foi solo mothers e appear ma toe disappear pei o le au Samoa.
Does anyone know Loudeen's e-mail?
After all those years with Mrs Barlow as our Eng teacher my Eng is still bad. Popole fua, probably why I ended up with a German bun cos I know its not their first lang

From Hamilton, tofa soifua.
To everyone, aua le sae le vaa.

Talofa All, so glad to hear from you around the world! Have been browsing through this website for almost an hour now, leai ma se galuega a le Malo ua faia. Had a great laugh.
Life is busy, life is good. Like Tasha I will post pic of my little bub soon. And I agree with Julie on a Mum's corner so we can talk about the pushing and ee, etc. Someone asked for Loudeen, I will get an email addie of her. She's doing quite well at the National Hosp and enjoying her job. She assisted my dad at the hosp not so long ago.
I notice the boys have not responded. John and Amp know but are probably being the silent ones, as always.
For us the locals, we shall get together soon. Se'i tau te'a atu le faapisipisi lea ua i ai i lenei vaiataimi.
Looking forward to the Manu vs Ireland game this Friday at Apia Park..... well, on tv for me...nevertheless.

Hi,

Sorry I haven't written anything for a while but thought I'd come and see what everyone else was up to. Really good to hear what everyone is up to - esp you Shirl. Glad to hear you're having fun like I expect most of us are in the various things we're all doing in various countries. So have you managed to locate any of your family members?

Anyway I think most of you guys know what I'm doing here. As Tash pointed out we're both in Wellington. My daughter is 2 and a half now (and like you Uncho am not thinking about having another one anytime soon). Coincedentally I also work for an Embassy but its the British. As with Shirl, I love my job and I learn so much about all sorts of things and meet so many different people including diplomats, business leaders, UK and NZ politicians, NZ policy analysts within different sectors etc. So yeah its great.

Yeah Juls would be great to catch up with you and Immo and Ollig. I'm actually flying up to Auck on Wednesday but don't think I'll have enough time to go down to Hamilton unless I just caught a bus down for the night. The conference goes on for the whole two days that I'm there for. Anyway when you come back and we're off to Malaysia later in the year maybe we can spend some time in Hamilton/Auck before we go or when we get back.

Anyway Uncho you've done a great job. Malo a...Its great to have somewhere to catch up with your former classmates. Would love to go on but gotta get back to work.

Alofas to all and everyone drop a line at least if nothing else.

Mel

Hello all, thanks Uncho for posting my son's pic on our website. I am looking forward to having all your little bubs on our website.
Mel, great to hear you are all well in Windy Wellington. I haven't been back since I left in Dec '98. Anything new?
I tell everybody I meet about our site. I am in contact with Moe these days. I am so greatful for all her help in assisting my dad with his illness. Her email is loudeenlam@yahoo.com
Uncho, you can add that to our list.
I wonder how the spg are going? Any update from our colleagues in suva?
Well keep in touch all!

Hi everyone,
I guess I'm as guilty as everyone else of not coming here often enough but yes I was here yesterday and went to the chat room but noone was there. We should get the others to visit now and then just to keep in touch.
Anyway Wellington is still pretty cold and I think I've really ready for a nice holiday outside of Wellington - I just need to plan it because our section is pretty small so we all have to schedule our leave so that that someone is left behind...
Anyway what is happening with everyone else? Hey and so what's up with the Mormon temple burning down? Hmm - should go have a look at samoalive and the observer...

Hello everyone!!!! Have been browsing through the website for almost an hour now and like everyone else I think its really great. Congratulations to Andy for a job well done and to everyone else who have been posting messages and contacting each other via the site ... malo lava le soifua maua. Great to know that everyone is doing well wherever they are .... especially those overseas ... Julie, Shirley, Tasha, Rina, Mel, Andy and others whom I may have missed out. Malo lava le onosai.

I have been in the office for sometime now trying to complete some matters for tomorrow when I decided to check my email and came across your message Andy ... and here I am making contact. Again, malo lava le fai mea mafai.

Ia o loo manuia lava si o matou foi aiga i Samoa nei. I'm still the skinny and quiet faipopo from Savaii that I was 10 years ago except that I now have 2 children (girl & boy) aged 6 & 3 respectively and that Mrs Roma is also expecting and due to give birth next month. Mea foi lea e leaga ai le tino laiti ma le ova o le fit e vave ai foi ma le gaioi i isi mea, a ea ...

I have since September 2002 commenced legal practice on my own and have found it a huge challenge and one which I never thought I would find myself in at this stage. It's an enjoyable and rewarding experience by the way, and I definitely have no regrets.

I was in Suva for the SPG and we won bronze in the mens touch competition. Didn't get the chance to go out much which was probably why I didn't meet up with you Shirley, a ea. This is the third week (I think) since we got back o lea la faatoa tau lelei se galuega e fai. Ua tau leai foi ni alleged murderers and rapists e alu ai le tele o le taimi though there is still a lot of work to do in the office.

I will sign off here for now ... Mea sili lea ua maua le fesootaiga. But to everyone ... faamalosi i galuega aemaise o aoaoga o loo feagai ai ... and please remain in contact.

Kind regards,
ampe

Hello everyone!!!. Malo lava le soifua. I have been so busy with work and being a mother to 3 girls that I have not had time to visit the web unless it is research for work.... but I met Zep at a party last night and she informed me that we have a website, so I thought I'll visit the site and drop in a few words to say hello to everyone. thanx Unutoa for initiating this contact and faamalo to everyone who have been in touch with each other via the site. Great to see that everyone is doing fine with their own life, getting married and having babies.

Ia o loo manuia lava lenei loomatua. I am now living at my own house at Vaitele with 3 beautiful girls. My baby is only 8 weeks now.

I am now the Consultant-Senior Policy Analyst for the PSC which is an independent Executive Position.I did not know I would go this far but it is very interesting to specialise in this area of HR Policy. My biggest challenge is to do a big review of all the HR policies in the Samoa Public Service from scratch.

I will sign off now, but I'll be in touch that now we have our Website.

Kind regards
