Rescue Dogs and Puppy Mills |
Each year thousands of dogs are raised in feed lot type operations called PuppyMills. I think the is because the farms keep grinding out more dogs and puppys. Though some of these dogs end up ok, many are mistreated and ill. Some of these farms are located in Iowa, the state where I was born and still live. I was lucky! Born on a horse farm, raised by nice people and taken to a home with my Dad, two dog brothers and two cat sisters, plus other interesting animals. |

My Dad does not do ANY business in pet shops that would sell puppy's from PUPPY MILLS. He has raised, trained and shown dogs long before I came to live with him, and has some very strong beliefs about proper treatment and propagation of all pet animals. |
RESCUE PETS Many people have room in their life for a new pet, which very often is a dog or cat. Now, if they wish to show and breed the pet, they may want to select a purebred REGISTERED puppy or kitten. This pet MUST be acquired from a reputable breeder that produces stock of sound type and temperament. Besure to investigate the breeds you like, checking all aspects of care, activity levels, health and grooming requirements, PLUS compatability to your life style. All this said, you may be wanting a nice dog that looks like a particular breed, but are not planning to breed, it would be in your best interest to check your animal shelters for a wonderful dog, puppy or Kittie that suits your needs! |
