"Closed Door" students are usually hand picked and taught behind locked doors by the Master so that they can pass on the art after the Master has retired or died. This is what happen at the Advance Masters classes, as soon as the class began, Jimmy would lock the door, no one in and no one out. That is, no "open door" students allowed. This is the definition of a "closed door" student. Anyone that was in the Advance Classes up until about a year or so before Jimmy died, where "Closed Door" students (just prior to his death he stopping locking the door and let individuals from other studio's in ending the "closed door" period). "Indoor" or "inner door" students are individuals that are usually asked over to the Masters home, or to other places that were private, and were usually taught various information, or allowed to pick the Master brain. Usually you gain excess to info that was not taught at classes. These are "Inner Door" students. That's all there is to it. San soo people should stop throwing fits everytime they don't understand something, were not part of something, or don't have something that another stylist has. |
