Sandy's Heath, Ohio

Sandy's Heath, Ohio

Priscilla Howell remembers Sandy's in Heath which is listed as the Newark, Ohio Sandy's location on the 1968 official locations list. Heath is a proud city in and of itself and this Sandy's location should have been referred to as Heath, Ohio.

Ohio was certainly a strong-hold for Sandy's as Dayton alone had nineteen. Some of these opened after March of 1973 when Sandy's was bought out and were only Sandy's by name on the official books and were opened as Hardees. Incredible hamburgers, shakes and fries as well as the atmosphere of their locations provided the same experience for thousands of Americans which Priscilla alludes to!

Hi!

I remember Sandy's in Heath, Ohio on St.Rt. 79, Hebron Rd.

15 cents for a hamburger made for a cheap date; my friends and I frequented it around 1961 until it closed - probably in the late 60's or early 70's.

Don't know who managed it, as I was a young teen then.

Priscilla Howell

Special thanks to the librarian who helped from the Newark, Ohio Public Library stating the following;

Our city directories list Sandy's Drive-in for the years 1963 through 1969, but at only one location: 570 Hebron Road (which is Rt. 70).
