The Little White Hen
The little white hen arrived here in 1986 when I was working at Dollar General. Someone had broken off her head and she was destined for the trash can. I rescued her and glued her head back on. She has set on her three eggs in her nest in my kitchen window ever since.
The photo above was taken during the summer of 1999. Sara spent the whole summer in the window with her friend the hen. She is wearing a dress that I made for her back in 1972.
The photo to the right shows the friends in 2001.
Sara has a new stove and kettle to keep her
busy when she stays in the kitchen.
Sara's friend Gata the cat peeks in at her and Hen.
Here we see Sara on the outside
looking in. This photo was taken
during the spring of 2002.
Sara's friend the visiting Travel Ann
from the Netherlands is peeking out from
behind the begonias.
Hen isn't paying them any attention at all.

The little round wooden box originally had shaving soap in it. I bought it in 1973 for $1.
