"Would you sleep with this boy ?? "  asked the April, 1983 cover of the British weekly NME .  Boy George, leader of the British rock groupe Culture Club,  is said to have excited music fans and the press with his androgynous out-fits and outlandish hair-styles for the past year.  Although George first received radio play in 1982 with his hit, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me,  accompanied by guest apperances at Steve Strange's Camden Palace in London,  Schulz was able to photograph him in 1980 at the very beginning of his career. "He was really very eager to be photographed and was a very nice guy."
George's make-up,  done by Australian make-up artist Stevie Hughes, was of his own design as was his outfit and hairstyle
