SPEAR OF DESTINY
the blitz kids
Mark Joined Spear of Destiny in 1989 as guitarist; Kirk Brandon had put together a new line up of the band, which included Mark, Stan Stammers (who had left the band 5 years previously) and Bobby Rae, an American drummer who had previously played with U.S. band M.D.M.A.

After some sell out shows at the London Marquee in 1990, the band went into the studio to start demoing songs that were later to form a large part of the 'Sod's Law' album. In 1991 Kirk reformed the original Theatre of Hate line up for a 10th Anniversary UK tour, which included Stan on bass, John Boy Lennard on sax, plus Mark on guitar (in place of original member Billy Duffy of The Cult) and Pete Barnacle (SOD) on drums.

It was this line up that were to perform and record the 'Sod's Law' album, released in 1992 on Burning Rome records, the label that Theatre of Hate's first records were released on in the early eighties.
