Dannevirke Scandinavian Club

125th Jubilee Parade

The Dannevirke Scandinavian Club float towing a 'Scandi wagon', with its distinctive wheels, in the Dannevirke 125th Jubilee Parade on Saturday, 11 October 1997. Early Scandinavian settlers learned to improvise as an economy measure and once there were many wagons similar to this in the district. They were based on a small Norwegian farm cart. Nowadays the town of Norsewood uses a Scandi wagon wheel as its logo. (Photo: Val Burr, P.N.)
