Scott Rankin

I am presently working for the Alaska Court System in Bethel, Alaska.

A little background on myself...

I was born in Gardner, MA on February 3, 1976 at about 9:50am to Sharon (Creamer) and Edward Rankin.  I also have a younger sister, Allison living in Lexington, MA as an Accountant.

 

I lived in Templeton, MA until I was 6 years old and then moved to Gardner.

 

I attended Prospect Street School, Elm Street School, Gardner Junior High and Gardner High School (3 ring circus).

 

Graduated from RIT with a BS in Computer Information Technology (IT).

 

Married to Christina Adeline Herouart on June 16, 2000.  Bought our first house in Waterloo, NY (Birthplace of Memorial Day) the week after, got a Jack Russell Terrier.

 

Some of the things I did while at school in Gardner were:

 

Played Soccer for about 9 years, Track for 3 years, and Wrestled for 5 years.

 

I also took 2 years of Spanish (and can't speak it at all) and took Home Repair and Improvement, Drafting, Basic, Logo, Pascal, and QBasic.

 

I was in Math League and some friends and I started Youth Alive Bible Club at our High School.

 

Senior year I participated in things such as Little Oscars and Powder Puff (Which is when the girls play Football and the guys play Field Hockey...I was a Cheerleader).

 

Work:

I worked in the Distance Learning Center of the library as an audio bridge technician.

 

I also worked in VIA (the Vax and Internet Area) at the library also...as a computer lab assistant.

 

I was the ITSO Secretary/Information Engineer for a year.

 

I have worked with some other students and two teachers to hook up local area High Schools to the Internet. It was a great learning experience, I like working with networks.

 

I worked at a company called Vegetration Control Services, Inc. (VCS) in Athol, MA. We sprayed hebicides on the high power lines (Right-Of-Way) throughout New England.

 

Did a co-op at Moore Business Forms in IL.

 

Contracted work through Kelly Technical Services for Xerox until I was hired on full-time January 25, 1999 as a Field Engineer.

 

Worked for Xerox as a Network Systems Field Engineer for until August 23, 2002 in Fairport and Rochester, NY supporting High Volume Network Print Servers and DigiPath Windows based Scanning systems.

 

Currently working for the Alaska Court System as an In-Court Clerk and Admin Aid for the traveling magistrate working mainly with children's proceedings. I came up here to follow my wife, Christina, who is the Superior Court Judge's Law Clerk.

Activities:

Some of my favorite music includes U2, Chicago, Journey, Boston, Led Zepplin, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, and list keeps growing...

I loved getting to try barefoot waterskiing and help as a lifeguard at Lakeside Camp in Pittsfield, MA.

I loved rollerblading, but don't get to much anymore, no good places to go.

I like snow skiing..both downhill and x-country, but downhill is much more exciting!

Miscellaneous:

I had a Pug (dog) named Sootie.

I have had many nicknames such as Reese's, Bigfoot, Squatt, Tim-Tom-Scott, Smiley...

My favorite foods are Cheese and Seafood. Drinks would be Kool-Aid and White Russians.
