The Missing Link
by Denise Petersen
I thought I'd try something different this time and list some sites that I've found where you can start your own blog, create your own website and store online, tons of your photos or scanned pictures to share with your friends and family.  All of these sites are free right now and they offer something more than your photo storage sites like Yahoo, MSN, Epson, Kodak, etc.

Create your own blog, complete with photos.

Great site to build your own custom website.  Includes photo and video sections where you can upload photos and videos to share.  Journal section, just the same as a "blog", you can add entries daily, weekly, monthly or whenever.  There are not set up requirements for posting in the Journal.  Just keep it clean.  You can also post recipes, calendar notes, and links to some of your favorite sites.  Different templates to work with to get your website set up.  There are even interest groups you can join just like Yahoo, MSN and Google.

Your free online bookmark manager.  This is great!  It takes a little time, but you can organize your favorite sites and then give your HQ address to your friends and family and even internet groups so they can share some of your favorite sites too!  You don't have to list all of your bookmarks, just the ones you wante to share and you can organize and list them in groups, like Crochet (crochet sites), Knitting (knitting sites), Cross Stitch, Plastic Canvas, etc.  You can organize and list them any way you want.

Membership is free.
Create your own blog along with photo storage.  This is another good site where not only can you create your own blog but you can use the site for your photo storage. Family and friends can visit the site to see what you're up to while downloading photos or scanned images.

Free photo organizing software.
Great software that you can download to manage your photos stored on your computer.  You can manage and sort your photos into all kinds of groups without actually changing their location on your hard drive!  Check this one out.

Free membership.  Also an upgraded paid membership available.
Just started with this website but it looks promising.  Online photo storage along with a blog and an email address.  You pick the name of your website and that's your email address as well.  This one looks really interesting.  It might even be able to compete with Multipy!
