CHAINS OF THOUGHT
September Issue
A Circle of Friends
We've joined together as classmates
as the new year begins...
A year full of learning
while we become friends
We'll share and be kind
as we work and play
And our friendship will grow
with each passing day.

Greetings friends
Welcome ... come and join us.  The theme for this newsletter is "Back to School".  Most students have returned to their classes.  Most I have talked to, are excited about another year.  My grandsons are excited about going into Grade 1 and going to school all day, every day.  Our granddaughter is going into Jr. Kindergarten, and is also excited that she too is now going to big school.  Best wishes to all who are beginning a new school year.
There may be some changes coming with regards to the newsletter.  Rather than having one full newsletter one month and two smaller ones the next two months, we are contemplating have a full newsletter every two months.  This will allow a bit more time to get the newsletter on line.  If all goes as planned, the next newsletter will be online around the 15th of November.
Our thoughts and prayers go to all those effected by Katrina.  May the world reach out to them with love, support, provisions and give them hope for tomorrow.

The following recipe was
submitted by Sue Yowell.
Lazy Day Peppers
1 pound hamburger
1/4 pound bacon
1 onion, chopped
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. salt
2-4 green peppers, chunks (one inch)
1 28 oz. can tomatoes, broken up
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp paprika
1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
2 cups water

Brown hamburger and bacon with onion.
Add remaining ingredients, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes (add more water as/is needed) or till rice is needed.

This is a favorite of ours and lots of times I use 1 and 1/2 pounds of hamburger and it usually makes enough for us to eat it again the next day.  Also if my onion is big I usually just use a 1/2 an onion.
From all of us at "Chains of Thought", our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people who are suffering as a result of the devastation caused by
Hurricane Katrina.
