Residential
Residential trash picking is very popular amongst the elderly, particularly because of their lack of shame and greediness.  This is very easy, all you need is a bicycle (which you may find in the garbage) or a car.  A car is recommended because it allows you to cover a lot more ground as well as being able to carry a lot more stuff.  Just remember to get out there early on the morning of trash pickup, 7:30 at the latest.  The earlier you start, the more time you'll have before the garbage men show up.  If you've never gone
trash picking before, you'll be amazed at what you'll find.  There are televisions, computers, vacuum cleaners, carpeting, and just about anything else you can imagine.  All you do is pull over when you see something you like, load it up, and keep going.  The best part of this form of shopping is the return policy.  If you get something you don't like or doesn't work, just throw it out.  Upper class neighborhoods yield the best finds! Think of it this way:  the nicer the neighborhood, the nicer the garbage.  Rich people are more inclined to throw away something that works more than your average Joe living in a middle to lower class neighborhood.  Don't get discouraged if you don't find something one week, just keep looking and you're bound to come across something nice.
