| (old bio) autis toole began in 1999. i had been playing with jarred already in a series of trios (guitar, bass, drums) for five years when i realized that i wanted to do something on my own. that was autis toole. i was singing for super evil experiments (we did two shows total, one in stockton and one in merced) when i started gigging under autis toole. i fiddle with an occissilator while jarred clangs on a guitar and i yelp or sqock my vocals. when we don't like it, we call it "art." (new bio) the autis toole has evolved into a revolving cast of musicians that has included clint, jarred, and ryan from basilisk, justin and levi of the add experiment, jason lytle of grandaddy, lucky lew, nadia, and many others. we feature the xylophone, drums, mini accordian, guitar, vocals(which get mostly compared to kim deal of all folks), and any other thing we can make an insturment out of. we keep playing shows, and now people ask us to play shows, instead of us begging. it has a more drowsy, folky, creepy feel then it used to, and songs are forming. the autis toole's first record will be released on a girl hurts as soon as it is completed. it will include a children's book called sebastian and the androids, and will also be recorded by many different engineers. it was originally scheduled for an april fool's day release, but it is going to take a lot longer to bring this idea to fruitian. each plate of the book is illustrated by a different artist. it should be done soon, and there will be songs up at mp3.com in the interim. autis toole is an improv project and is not practiced. it is always changing and should never been taken seriously. shows: 2000-2001 Dirty Duck, 21 Grand Gallery(Oakland) , Capitol Garage (Sac) 2002- 21 Grand Gallery, Catacombs (Chico), Mustang (Modesto), Central Valley Indie Music Festival 2003- The Mustang (Modesto), Ambrosia (Merced), The Mainzer (Merced), Central Valley Indie Music Festival More shows TBA here. . . . |
