Great Temple
The Templo Mayor was the center of Aztec worship. In Spanish "templo mayor " means "great temple" and it truly is the grandest and most important temple of the Aztec world. Templo Mayor was built by the Aztec people from the lowliest laborer to the highest of priests and civil engineers. Construction began in the Aztec year of the Rabbit (1390) and was continually rebuilt until the early 1500's.
