Science College, Patna is a proudy constitutent unit of Patna University, Patna run by Government of Bihar (India). It gained historical name and fame in the field of Higher Education. Basically it was established in 1927 as a part of Patna College, Patna (Presently a constutuent unit of Patna University and famous for quality education in the field Faculty of Arts) in form of Deptt. of Science. As an independent institution, Science College was fromally opened on November 15, 1928 by then Viceroy of India LORD IRWIN(after that Lord haileyfax).This day is remembered as the foundation day in the history of the college and the university.It is going to complete 74 years of its life on 15 November 2002. In Science College, Patna; education for Intermediate in Science (I. Sc.) [ Bihar Intermediate Education Council, Patna ] and Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) - Honours [ Patna University, Patna ] is imparted in the following subjects: - Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Zoology
- Botany
- Geology
- Statistics
- Computer Application (BCA).
Apart above subjects, Hindi and English languagues are also taught to the I. Sc. and B. Sc. classes as per the syllabus prescribed by the concerned Council / Univesity. There are separate departments for these subjects. In the large complex of the college, the classes of Master in Science - M. Sc. ( Post Graduation / PG) of Patna University are also conducted and the respective PG Departments of Patna University for Faculty of Science are also estalbished and run in college campus.
