| A Day at the Club |
| According to JULIAN: Oh, the shiny shiny day! At the end of a busy week, all I usually want to do is head for E1. The first two meetings of the month consist on a random movie and snacks brought in by a volunteer. Movies only fit the sci-fi/fantasy/horror/thriller genres. Lately, we've seen Evolution, 28 Days Later, The Princess Bride... you name it. The next two meets are random playing of videogames, including Alice, GTA, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and Dragonflame... they are cute, but snack-less. I like a lot! Two short meetings are held to plan future events, blah blah blah... One of the videogame days caries a DDR day! I rock! Then, randomly throughout the month, there are Dungeons and Dragons meetings, movie outings, event outings... you name it. Yep. Fun. It's really relaxing. I'll shut up now... I'm am a bad bad person... look! Daisies... According to PATRICIA: The Sci-Fi Club meets mainly on Fridays. So ten to fifteen minutes after the last bell, members start to make their way to Mr. Carlson's classroom. The television is usually on, awaiting a movie or game system to be hooked up to it. The meetings start officially around three. Old an new buisiness is taken care of first, then the activities begin. Every first and second Friday, a different club member is responsible for snacks and a movie. The other two Fridays is the same with videogames. While either activity plays, you can find various members of the club playing Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, or at times, Dance Dance Revolution. Of course, some people bring anime to watch. The Club occasionally meets outside of school. Ideas for outings include the RenFest, MegaCon, and various movies (any movie the club agrees on, but previously LOTR and Star Wars). At times, you might also run into ex-members, now college alumni, who come back to say hi and impart college wisdom or just drop in to see how friends are. Don't worry, they don't bite too hard. That's a general day in the CM Sci-Fi Club. Of course, you never know what might happen, because we're all crazy here. ^_^ |
