This club was established in June 2004 by a group of Mopar enthusiasts who thought that organizing a Mopar Club in South Central Indiana would be a fun way of bringing those with the same hobbies and interests together. The President of the club has been a true Mopar person his entire life…….he has never owned anything but a Chrysler. This club is only for Mopar vehicles and those must be powered by a Chrysler power plant. You DO NOT have to have an Antique or Classic Car to participate in the club….it is open to ALL years of Chrysler vehicles!! If you are an enthusiast and do not have a car but would like to join, that is fine too.....everyone is welcome! We have a cruise-in every Thursday night starting at 6:30, however you do not have to attend every event.....just come as you can. We distribute a monthly newsletter with items of interest regarding our hobby and an area for members to include comments/suggestions/things needed or for sale, etc. We are in the process of working on our own website which will eventually have its own domain, with this being the case, if a search engine is done on the internet for Mopar it will list our website. We also would like to have an occasional cook-out or get together outside of the cruise-in nights. Once a month we have a cruise to the Suds in Greenwood for one of their Classic Car nights and to Bedford for the car show there on Saturday evening. We are open for cruises to other locations that are closer to some of our member locations. We are also planning to do events at the Mopar Nationals and the Chrysler Classic. You DO NOT have to attend every event....we all realize that people have many things going on in their lives and we WILL NOT require that you be at each event.....just make it to things as your time permits. We would love for the club to continue to grow in size as more and more people become aware of us. The closest Mopar car clubs for any of us around here are in Indianapolis or Evansville, which is why we thought this would be a good way to hit in the middle of those two areas. We’d love to have members from all over south central Indiana…..this will only broaden our contacts and our interests. We recently hosted our first annual ALL Makes car show which was a good success for our first event. We plan to hold this every year in the fall and would like to also have a yearly ALL MOPAR car show in the spring. We hope to start this with our first one in the spring of 2005. What we can do will be determined by the size we grow to be. We do already have some businesses that are interested in sponsorship if we need them. There are different items available for purchase once you are a member. These items range from key chains, hats to sweatshirts and many other items (some of which are listed on the membership application). The club has taken off much better than we ever imagined. As of the middle of May 2007, we have over 65 members (of which approx. 50 are active) and a large roster of cars. Our members are spread out from all across central Indiana including Bloomington, Spencer, Solsberry, Clay City, Gosport, Ellettsville, Bedford, Mitchell, Springville, Dugger, Madison, Osgood, Edinburgh, Columbus and Chicago, IL!! This is a wonderful network of people to have contact with and to be associated with. We greatly appreciate each of our members and what they have already contributed to the club. We hope to have many more people join from all over the state. If this sounds like something you are interested in, please fill out an application and send to us and join in the fun! We'd love to have you! Mopar to ya!! |
