Candle burning tips
NEVER leave a burning candle unattended!

Keep candles away from pets, children, drafts and flammable objects such as curtains, cabinets and towels.

To prevent smoking, trim the wick to 1/4 inch prior to each use.

Smoking or "mushrooms" are a gentle reminder that the wick needs to be trimmed.  Extinguish the candle, trim the wick, allow to cool, then relight.

Keep the wick centered in the candle and keep all debris out of the candle.

Candles have memories.  Burn a candle one hour for each inch in diameter.  This will allow an even melt pool and prevent the candle from tunnelling down the center.

Pillars are designed to curl in at the top so all the wax is consumed.  Sometimes they may need a little help.  After extinguishing and while still warm, gently cup the top edge of the pillar and squeeze it into itself.  This is called hugging.

Don't blow out your candles.  This can spray wax and cause a candle to smoke.  It is best to use a snuffer, quencher or wick dipper.
