McAllen - Tanya Sheetz, at the age of 31, born October 10, 1976,
passed away in McAllen, Texas and went to be with her Lord on May 22, 2008.

She was very active at the University of Texas Pan American as she had the position of Professional Guidance Counselor in the Academic Advisement and Mentoring Center giving advice to students in the science and engineering fields.

As a youth she excelled academically and attended [the Science Academy of South Texas]. She received her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at UTPA.

She was a very loving wife to her husband, J.R. Acosta and a very caring and loving and outstanding daughter to her mother Cheryl Oyama. She is also survived by her father, Rick Sheetz ([wife] Linda), brother, Russell ([wife] Jennifer Sheetz), brother Michael Sheetz, sister, Samantha Sheetz, niece, Jannell, niece, Samantha, nephew, Tyler. Also grandparents, Sigenore and Tsuyu Oyama, paternal grandmother, Arlene Kahler, her aunts, Trudy (Francis) Ogawa, Charlotte Azwell, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Visitation will be held at the San Benito Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. with burial at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Leroy Acosta, Sr., Leroy Acosta, Jr., Joey Navarro, Chris Azwell, Scott Avery, Lyndon Jones, Terry Meyers and Tommy Meyers. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the San Benito Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

McAllen - Rebecca Forward (Nee Garcia), age 31, born January 23, 1977, in
Wehawken, New Jersey went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2008,
surrounded by the love of her family.

Rebecca was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, and sister who had a passion for painting, singing, reading, and life. She will be missed for her brilliant smile, her unique sense of rhythm and love songs. She would sing until her voice hit the right notes, whether you liked it or not.

She will always be remembered for her unwavering love for her husband and daughter.

Rebecca was a graduate of the University of Texas Pan American and Sam Houston State University with a degree in Library Science and was employed by Progresso ISD as a librarian. Her favorite quote was, "I have always imagined that Paradise is a kind of library," by Borges.

Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Jim Forward; two-day-old daughter, Madeleine Grace Forward; her parents, Edmundo and Yolanda Garcia of McAllen; sister Veronica Garcia-Michael and husband George Michael; grandparents, Esther Garcia of North Bergen, N.J. and Edilberto Garcia of Miami, Florida; mother-in-law, Reyna Forward; sister-in-law, Shandy Gonzalez of Weslaco.

She is also survived by her loving aunts and uncles, Hector (Millie) Enriquez, Graciela Perez, Francisco (Gladys) Garcia, Elena Garcia, and Rafaela Garcia of New Jersey, Edilberto Garcia, Jr., Jose M. (Tania) Garcia, Emigdio (Rosie) Garcia, Goergina (Guillermo) Navarro of Florida, plus numerous cousins from New Jersey and Florida.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Hector and Ondina Enriquez; and father-in-law, Horace J. Forward.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 8 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with internment following at Valley Memorial Gardens.
