HISTORY

Led, instructed and managed of a diverse population of students in various of environments

• Managed customer relations and operations as vacation relief.
• Conducted warehouse/archive operations and special projects.
• Prototyped a new tracking and billing system in VFP5.

• Performed IS analysis and troubleshooting including Exchange client configuration
• (second contract) acted as reader, 8th grade MCAS test grading

Authored VFP tools and familiarized myself with Web design and web design tools also studied JAVA

• Lead remediation process design and milepost designation. Performed Y2K remediation, enhancement and conversion of legacy Foxpro systems recompiling from FPD 1.02 to VFP6 with extensive retooling of multipart/preprinted/impact printed forms.
• Performed business process analysis and developed new laboratory specimen/testing tracking system in VFP6.

 

Evaluated and trained programming staff in use of VFP5 for OOP/Libraries and detailed mastery of Forms and Grids. Consulted on design and conversion issues for their core product

Supported, enhanced and maintained SBT and user community. (this was an original SBT system with some parts STILL compiled in Foxplus and others in Foxpro 1.02.)..

Yes I know letters of reference are a bit archaic...but as I have some nice ones from days of old I thought I'd scan them. Besides these are the "bird in the hand". The problem with people in the IT field is that even the managers are generally moving targets. With the exception of Everett Benton (who runs his own company) almost everyone I've worked directly for has changed employers or moved at least once or twice since I've known them...and I've often found them pretty darn hard to catch at home even when I have the current number....

I was his Director of Information services  when he was VP of operations  (now president, way to go Ray!) I oversaw the purchase of a new client on every desktop and rode herd outside contractors, in addition to supplying information products via Foxpro that gave them a leg up on the competition...

Everett Benton
Writes THE VERY BEST code I've ever read.. the stuff he wrote in the 80's is practically object code when the rest of us where still writing spaghetti for the most part...I helped bring him up to Speed on VFP5 and worked on some particular upgrade solutions for his products....

I worked for him at the Vaccine lab in Massachusetts (it was a multi layer contract... Commsys through EDS to the lab, but I worked mostly with him)  doing Y2k remediation of antique applications and writing a new system or two along the way.

Just some general tech help, but badly needed , in April of 2001 .. I came, I tinkered, I fixed.. several annoying printer problems, access to a filemaker database that was being persnickety and some Exhangeserver config problems.

Rick Bogues: PCG
I was his Lead PC guy in shop that was heavy on mainframe Cobol. Chose, purchased and set up their first network file server (NT 3.51) back when  ultra-SCSI  was big news and an external array of 5 of them could get you about 20gig.... ("we'll never use all of  that...")

My supervisor while converting data out of a moribund microfocus cobal program called "Realworld" and into the tables of SBT Pro 5.0 , which when you consider it meant being able to do it with the flick of a switch and start operations the next day with  the companies ENTIRE business, accounting , and inventory data depending on if it worked, was actually a pretty big deal...
