| This western series, set in the 1870s, was first broadcast on CBS during the years 1968-1970. In the series pilot, half brothers Scott and Johnny Lancer encounter each other for the first time when they disembark from a stagecoach in Morro Coyo, California. Previously unaware of each other's existence, they are en route to meet their father, Murdoch Lancer. Although it has been twenty years since he has had contact with either of his sons, Murdoch Lancer has sent for them now that his ranch is in danger of being taken from him by "Land Pirates." The embattled rancher offers each of them a one-third ownership of his 100,000 acre spread if they are willing and able to help him fight to keep it.
