At the beginning, no one really thinks about the end, but everyone knows it will come

The romantic end of a happily-ever-after storybook, the ending to a perfect vacation, or even the devastating end to an innocent life, everything has an ending.

Throughout a lifetime there are promises that are easily made and just as easily broken, but life has guaranteed a definite promise to each and every thing...

THE END

Written by:  Maria    1999
Thank you God for all that you have given me.
The land, the blue skies and the sea
The different seasons that come and go
The spring with rain, the winter with snow
The animals, birds, and flowers too
For all these things were made by you.
Thank you for my health, happiness and daily bread
Also the roof over my head
My mother, father, sisters and brothers
Relatives, friends and all the others
Dear God I say this humble prayer
To Thank You for your loving care

Thoughts of a Loved One-(dedicated to my Pop-Pop)

The Lord had called upon you, your time was finally here, with his mighty hands he took you to a place that's not so near.
My heart is telling me your  in a better place, a place where you can help us out and always see our face.  But the selfish voice inside my head says I want you here with us instead .
Your loving personality is what made you special to me, then there was your great kind heart that fit you to a "T"
There are certain things that I remember, some things you used to do, like when you told us jokes or things we never knew, or the way you called me "Sweetheart" I can still hear you in my mind, the way you use to say it so soft and oh so kind.
But as long as you remember this one thing while your away, something I was longing to tell you but never got to say....
I will always love you and the love will never ever stop and as far as I'm concerned you'll always be my PopPop!"

                 at the age of 13
Ever since I was a baby-I knew you were the one
You mean the world to me your my moon, my stars, my sun
Your the strongest person I know and tough as tough can be
No matter what will happen you"ll always be with me.
My heart will always miss you-my soul will always care
Even though I'm here and even though your there.

Have you ever woke up in the morning to see
pretty birds chirping in a green-leaved tree
The sun shining through your window pane
and little dew drops that remind you of rain
Pretty colored flowers awakening from their beds
Looking at the sun, shining over their heads
The sound of a brook, babbling on and on
And the noise of the animals out on a farm
There must be a reason for this wonderful thing
For by now--you must know it could only be
Spring

                              MOM

God Bless and keep you, Mother Dear
Your forever on my mind
The day, the date, and the year
You brought me to mankind
August 10, 1922, you had your second son
You named me Patrick,  after "Dad"
Your first born was named John
The third son, Eddie, that you had
was born in the cellar
Then Margaret came and we were glad
to have a "Cinderella"
Thomas was the next born son
Then Anna and brother Owen
Then Micheal, after the little babe
that we had never known
We Love you "Mom" with all our heats
and dare not say Good-Bye
until we meet again, "Sweetheart"
The family, you and I
We love our Dad's, both Pat and Bill
Don't doubt this ever never
We thank the Lord that His kind will
has brought you all together--Amen

My father wrote this after the death of his mother.  Patrick, John, Eddie, Margaret  and Thomas have now joined them in heaven.  They are all truly missed.
                      To my wife,  Joan

I love you Hon! with all my heart
this love to you I send
I loved you dear right from the start
this love will never end

I thank God for you--my wife
and children by the score
I thank "Him" for this married life
which made me love you more

To put these words on the line
is the best that I can do
and you are still my Valentine
cause, Darling "I Love You"

The Best Year of my Life---1957

I have seen death and starvation,
throughout the stinking war
I saw their younger nation
come begging at my door
I fed these kids, and gave them love
and taught them how to sing
to God Almighty who is above,
who knows everything

When the war was over,
I came home to stay
No longer to be a rover
To Mary, I did pray

She sent me a lovely girl
who later became my wife
in the 1957 whirl
was the best year of my life

She bore me sons and daughters
and loved them from the start
she gave them love and orders
that came from the heart

1957 is the year that I loved best
because this lonely soldier finally found rest

My father always had a dresser we were not allowed in.  After he passed on we found this poem in it.  We don't know when he wrote it but it was quite a shock...
                        To My Kids

Once I'm gone
You all should know,
I always gave a
****(darn)
To see you raised and fully grown
I did the best I can

I loved every one of you,
This I can't deny
For you were the Flesh and Blood
Of God, Mom and I

I was hard at times, I know,
But I loved you all the same
and every day my love would grow
As you carry on my name

God Bless you all
