This site is all about my favorite subject...Guinea Pigs! It is meant to help you with information and questions you might have about your Guinea Pigs health and care, or just to entertain you with some cool pictures of my Guinea Pigs. I also have links to sites which I think you will like including a few grieving sites for the unfortunate time that a great Guinea Pig friend is lost.
I GOT TWO NEW GUINEA PIGS!!!! Rosie (my first abby) and Lillyian (silky). They were at the humaine society dredlocked, urine soaked and full of lice. We got them home and they trusted us enough for haircuts and lice baths, and they are just amazing pigs. They both can jump out of their 13 inch high box and run around my office when the mood suits them. They are towel trained and the room is pig-proofed so we have given up on keeping them in their house.
I do recommend that you visit the humaine society and rescue the guinea pigs they have there. Our's is a "no kill" and they say it is rare anyone comes in to look at guinea pigs so they are there for months. Buying adult guinea pigs is very rewarding!

Occasionally I am asked if Guinea Pigs are rodents. After all rabbits are not rodents and they sure look like rodents. Here are some reasons I feel Guinea Pigs don't fit in the rodent category. Feel free to email me with more examples. This is not to say i dont like rodents. I love 'em.
1. Guinea pigs do not produce vitamin C in their bodies.
2. Guinea pigs have white front teeth.
3. Four front toes and three back toes.
4. They dont have that musky smell most rodents have.
5. No tail!
6. Large vocabulary of sounds.
7. Born with eyes open and ready to run.
8. Relativly long life span.
