If cake was my life, I'd have diabetes. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Actually the whole cast seemed to do their jobs fairly well, but it was like they were being directed to follow a paths when they should have been blazing a trail. Maybe if another five to ten minutes had been spent solidifying the relationship... The divergence of the couple was pretty realistic. The pregnancy scare seemed realistic with the closing up and excluding your partner. The movie felt somewhat like two films pasted together with the two different groups of friends involved. The small audience stayed nearly silent throughout the film and left in a hurry. There were no bonuses at the end of the credits. Sorry I couldn't be more optimistic, I'd prefer it... |

The great cake debate. The cake in the movie is an Entenmann's. You can see that best when at Imogen walks up to the counter with the box in her left hand. The side panel that her thumb is on is clear to those familiar with Entenmann's. The MMM's brand name is pasted onto the top and the side of the box. You can see Al grabbing the box to intentionally show the fake name to the camera as well as the staged way that side of the box always faces the camera. Entenmann's, INC. General Offices P.O.
