This screening was introduced by Max Papis, one of the real Miller sponsored CART drivers who drives in the movie.  I drove by Miller Brewing Company on my way to the show.

Synopsis:
A championship bound rookie driver is in the middle the season and is choking.  His team manager calls in a former racing champ to guide him back to victory.

Review:
This movie is more than eye candy with lots of Point Of View shots.  The POV shots are abundant and some are rather interesting.  Race fans may be irritated by a few of the
John Madden like statements by the announcer, and the over dramatization.  There are many narrative statements by the announcer, and elements of the plot that exist mostly for the non race fan audience members.  The street chase scene was silly and pointless, but they director seemed to recognize that, and made it sillier.  Sewer covers would indeed be lifted a bit.  The racing is just a background to the real story.  The basic story has been done repeatedly.  It is a simple theme reflecting Stallone's view of his own life.  The acting is at least adequate, and some is quite good.  Nothing earth shattering, but it is still unusual for a male oriented movie to deal with feelings.  Sylvester Stallone's requiem has a good title with a double meaning.  If you get that, then you have seen the strength in the story.  The club mix soundtrack is upbeat, energetic, and has intent for album marketability written all over it.  This won't change the planet's tilt, but it may get some nods for cinematography, and the audience was entertained.
