Synopsis: On Mars in the future, a group of police take a train out to a near by mining outpost to pick up a prisoner. They walk into the unpopulated town and start to uncover gruesome carnage. Lots more death and carnage occurs. Stuff blows up. More carnage occurs. Review: John Carpenter should be strung up. Has he ever made a good movie? This has to be amongst his worst. The special effects are bargain basement. Laughter occurs throughout all the serious moments. The humor at the end was intentional. The story is very stupid. Why the heck did Screen Gems pick up this piece of crap? The jumpy editing was meant for effect, but it only highlighted the fact that this flick was beyond redemption. It sucked with the fire of a thousand suns. The acting... ummm... acting? This is the 47th 2001 movie I have seen so far in 2001, and it rank dead last. The only awards potential here is a raspberry for worst film of the year. A dishonorable mention is wholly unavoidable. The gore factor is there, but even American Pie 2 had much better gross out humor, and it was better written. Do not waste money or time on this atrocity. |
