Synopsis:
A sequence of stories occur within a group of people with common interests.  An underground fight promoter's troubles begin when his boxer for an upcoming fixed match is injured by a gypsy boxer known as One Punch'.  The psychotic mobster Brick Top forces them to get this guy to fight and throw the match.  An 84 karat diamond is stolen and many people are trying to steal it from anyone who possesses it.  Other twisted middle men and operatives become involved with everyone looking to get they're cut of the action.  A tremendous amount of gore and brutality takes place through out the story.

Review:
The problem that will kill this in the American Box office is the fact that it is so difficult to understand what they are saying.  The gruesome deaths and body part disposals will certainly turn away many as well.  Many of the guys walking out of theater were annoyed with the extensive use of the word f*ck.  The sound level was good for the speaking, but the musical sound portions were extremely loud and seriously detracted from the ability to pay attention to what was going on visually.  The constant action kept the audience involved as the story jumped around from group to group.  There were some camera tricks applied effectively to keep the story moving quickly and give some comedy as well.  This movie is brutal, but very funny.  The dialog is well written and delivered.  The direction seems pretty sound for this stylish low budget British movie.  The effect of all this is that by the end, the whole audience is laughing as one of the characters is shot to death with each bullet being it's own punch line.  Every character here is a bad guy, yet some aren't as bad as most.  The blood splattering all over the place is about the only colorful part of the movie.  If you haven't noticed by now, this movie is not for the squeamish.

The intricacy with which these sub plots are interwoven is an accomplishment even though it is annoying at first.  This movie is said to be very similar to the director's previous
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. There are no let ups in the entertainment.  Even the gory descriptions are humorous because of the unhinged detachment of the character.

This could be compared to
Two Hands (1999), but Snatch is funny, and more intense.
