Bush Cemeteries of Far North Queensland

This site is for anyone who has an interest in remote graves in Far North Queensland. The volunteers of Loudoun House Museum are doing their best to identify and maintain cemeteries around the Irvinebank area of Far North Queensland. We will post images as they become available.

If you have any images of remote graves that you would like us to post just email us. If you have any requests for information about family history in the area visit the Friends of Loudoun House website.

The pictures on this page are from the Irvinebank Cemetery. The cemetery served as the final resting place of residents from 1884 to 1980. Like most cemeteries, there are many stories to be weaved among the headstones. We will bring you some of those stories on this site.

Grave of Constable Lannigan. His story is told in the book "Brothers in Law". Available at the Loudoun House Museum online bookstore.

Tours of the cemeteries and former townships of the area can be arranged by the volunteers of Loudoun House Museum.
