STEVE STRANGE     BY Richard Sharah

Schulz meet rock entrepreneur Steve Strange, an exponent of the New Romantic movement, at London's-former Blitz Club in 1980, where Strange was then employed as a bouncer who approved guests admission according to their mode of dress.  Strange, at the time a very young unknow recently arrived from Wales,  had not responded for months to Schulz's previous requests to photography him to Stern magazine.  Finally,  Schulz sent a messenger with advance payment to Strange and he agreed to be photographed and interviewed. The only stipulation was that make-up artist Richard Sharah would make-up Strange and his friend Theresa  any way they wished.                                                                                                                                                               Photography Annual - 1984
