    Cannot select fills and cutting planes

    I am unable to select cutting plane or a fill in a draft file

    The Select Options button on the ribbon bar is the culprit.

    Click it (see figure) and remove the check mark from the Active Layer check box.

    Since the cutting plane and the fill are not created on the active layer, they become unpickable if this option is checked.

    Replace Dimension Text

    Is it possible to replace the dimension value with a Word (and still be able to modify the dimension value) ?

    Select Tools > Variable > Variables... and select the dimension.

    Change the name to the text to be displayed in place of its value.

    Right click the dimension and select Show All Names.

    This way you can still modify the value. See figure.





    Print Preview

    Is there any Print Preview option in Draft with Full preview like AutoCAD ?

    The draft file itself is a print preview.

    Doesn't this look like one ?

    Solid Edge Insight Connect : View and Markup has a print preview facility that is more feature rich than in ACAD.
