Philip Seiber Sr., my ancestor, is the ancestor of many of the Seiber, Sieber, Seeber, Seber families of Anderson, Campbell and Roane County, Tennessee. In researching, many of these young men moved to other counties and states and worked in the coal mines. Philip is thought to have come to Anderson County in the early 1800's from Maryland. But he was in Jefferson County for a period of time because that is where he married his second wife. Some of his older sons claimed they were born in Maryland. Many researcher believe that Philip was born in Germany, but this has not been proven.
I am finding new information all the time and will be adding to these page as time permits.
Good news.... I found in my research this past year where Philip Jr. did not die coming back from the War 1812 as many have thought. This has been a folklore for many years. This was proven by ordering his War 1812 pension file; which included a family record. I can not believe that this information was not found before now. So.....check back often you just never know what you may find.
