Drawn Work
Drawn Work is a form of embroidery in which threads are drawn from the fabric and the open areas creatively filled in.  The most common drawn work are hemstitching and needleweaving, which is also incorporated with filler stitches like fagoting and hardanger.

As with hemstitching, the fabric used can be any
plain weave.  Learning how to do this type of needlework can be very helpful when restoring linens since holes can be creatively filled in, and edges reduced and re-hemstitched.
