"Tex" is one of our former racing stars that raced successfully until age four on the track. He won many prestigious races, including the 2005 Kentucky Derby and a total of ten Grade I wins. He also placed second in the Preakness Stakes and was in the money in countless Graded Stakes races. General He is a playful stallion who always has to have something in his mouth. He is constantly picking up brushes, tack, anything he can get his teeth into. However, he is easy to handle on the ground and has never tried to bite or kick a human, which is a good thing, considering he is one of our largest Thoroughbreds! On the Race Horse Tex won the Kentucky Derby at age three, as well as a close second in the Preakness to star filly, Seemeshakeit. He also won or placed in many Graded Stakes races, including a show in the coveted Trainer's Cup Derby (Grade I). Tex won an amazing 10 Grade I races in his career and was in the money in many, many more. He continued winning and placing in Grade I races right up until his retirement in November of 2006. Tex has won over both surfaces at the Grade I level, although he excelled on classic distance dirt races, such as the Kentucky Derby. Late in his career he won several Grade I turf races, as there aren't many Grade I dirt races for older horses in Sim and he was still ready to race. He was a fabulous race horse with a big list of acheivements and an amazing will to win. Texas Hattrick will go down as one of the best race horses to live at Serendipity and probably one of the best Sim race horses ever. On His Pedigree He is sired by the 2001 real-life Kentucky Derby winner, MONARCHOS. Monarchos is the only other horse besides Secretariat to ever win the Derby in less than two minutes. He also placed second in the Wood Memorial, and third in the Belmont Stakes that same year. Monarchos is one of the top young sires in the United States today. Tex's dam, PERSONAL ENSIGN, was undefeated in 13 starts, including wins in the Breeder's Cup Distaff, Beldame Stakes (twice), Whitney Handicap (against males), Frizette Stakes and the Hempstead Handicap, to name a few. All those races were Grade I races, some even against male competition. She earned over $1,600,000 in her career and has produced one million-dollar earner, MY FLAG. She is also the dam of the well-known sire OUR EMBLEM, sire of WAR EMBLEM. On the Sire Texas Hattrick will be bred this year to some of our mares, and may be standing at public stud to approved outside mares. We are eagerly anticipating his foals! |
