Sesamstrasse has launged a great fansite february 10 After 35 years of succes with the German version of Sesame Street, there is finaly a big fansite for real Sesamstrasse- fans! Its a site that brings news , but you can also read the total history of the show. All with the pictures from their timeline. And just lik Sesameplanet, you can watch which actors lived on the strasse, and see how their muppet family grew over the years. In fact I believe it is really close to this site, having a history page and even a merchendise section! And with their episodes and studio background added, makes this site complete. The only thing you can have a problem with is the writen language of the site. At the moment its writen in German, but who knows... Maybe after a while, its possible to watch the site in English too. |

Hit the road Tiffy march18 It's old news, but many German Sesamstrasse fans can't forget the day they lost one of German's first Sesamstrasse character. Namely Tiffy the pink child monster (formaly known as the pink bird). Since NDR started in 1977 this muppet lived next to Samson and was everyones favorite character. But now she had to step a side for two new characters. The show needed them to give attention to single parenting. There for they wanted a mother and a child muppet. " The Sesamstrasse will try to customances of the childeren." A NDR- spokeswoman said. And this could only be possible if they dropped an other character. 58 new episodes will be produced in the NDR- studios in Hamburg. And they will be broadcast from the end of june. As this news appeared at the 18th of march 2005, the german fans were really annoyed. In the last years, the german version already has changed into a 'stupid' sitcom. Most of the fans chair this oppinion of the current version. In the meantime (januari 2006) the NDR said that it is possible for Tiffy to make a comeback in the 2007 episodes. " Cause the muppet was send to a general overhaul to America. the puppet was unplayable": NDR further said. But if Tiffy really has her comeback isn't really clear.... Tiffy has many fans in Germany and it's terrible how the german television dropped one of the confirmed characters of the german version of Sesame Street. S. Schulte |
