These are slender, grey-furred creatures that are native to the planet Myrkr. They attach their bodies to tree limbs and obtain nourishment from the wood, and will soon die if separated from their perch. They can reach lengths up to 50 centimeters, and have fur-covered scales.

Ysalamari have a specialized organ that has evolved over time as a defense. This allows the Ysalamari give impressions of there being a Force void that extends in a 10 meter bubble around the Ysalamari. This illusion works to influence the minds of creatures around them so that those creatures feel "Force blind".

However, if a target is strong enough in the Force they can "see" through this illusion and not be affected by the Ysalamari.
