Beast used to be a student at Bayville High School, at a time when Xavier
reached out to him and helped him control the "beast" within him. Since
then, Hank has tried in numerous ways (the most recent, a serum) to help him
keep it in control.
Beast is a good-natured person, but lost control when his serum failed. He
nearly killed Principal Kelly and destroyed half of the school up until
Xavier helped him control it. Since then he's been trapped in the form of
Beast, an ape-like monster with blue hair and fur all over.
Beast, now trapped inside the institute, teaches the kids how to control
their own powers, just in case one of them turns out to be like him.
