Colchester,
Essex
I used to live in Colchester and love the town very much. It is famous as the olderst recorded town in Britain, as Camulodunum... I first moved there in 1996 when I went to University. I then lived there on and off until 2004 when I finally left! I still go back regularly, to see friends and to do shows. |
One of the beauties of the town is that it still has large quantities of original architecture. There are prehistoric earthworks, the Roman walls, a Norman castle, a priory, large amounts of beautiful timber beamed buildings. Although it is being forced to grow at the moment, like many towns in Britain right now, it still retains the character of an old town. |
