Fredro Starr

Fredro Starr

Born Jan. 1, 1970

After wrapping up his last film project, "Save the Last Dance" and putting out his first solo album on Koch Records, Fredro, a.k.a. "Firestarr," has rejoined the members of Onyx for another group effort. Onyx's last album "Shut 'Em Down" was released in 1998 and in that four year break, Fredro and cousin Sticky Fingaz have done several solo projects. Now, as the group prepares to release "Bacdafucup: Part 2" on June 26, fans are glad to have the 'Afficialnast' group back.

Fredro spent the majority of the last three years developing his acting career, including roles in "Black Knight," "Save the Last Dance," "Black & White," and "Light It Up" where he starred alongside Usher Raymond and Vanessa Williams. His character was a thugged out high school student who had personal issues as well as school issues to deal with. The movie got down played something fierce. But you can still get the movie on tape if you missed out.

In the meantime and in between time, Fredro kept busy Executive Producing his cousin Sticky Fingaz's solo album. Sticky's solo joint hit the streets and made some waves with just the title alone -- "Black Trash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones". Yeah, y'all know the brother is crazy, but that's exactly the reason his sh*t be so hot!

As you already know, acting is nothing new for Fredro and he takes his acting career just as seriously as he does his music. One of his first gigs was the HBO movie "Strapped", which got him noticed outside of the rap game. Then he guest starred on a couple "NYPD Blue" episodes back in 1993, (the same year Onyx released its debut album, "Bacadafucup").

"Moesha" fans can place Fredro on TV as the New York shorty named 'Q'. He played on "Moesha" for two seasons, and eventually left the show to go back to work on his rapping. The show has since been cancelled.

Fredro once commented that, "I’ll have to do a lot of movies before people recognize my talent."

Nah baby, we recognize ya talent already, so stay up playa.
