SHANGHAI SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM 上海科技馆
The main themes of the Museum are Nature, Man, Science and Technology. Its 12 theme exibition halls vary in styles and fully embody the perfect combination of hi-tech end science education, which build up a modern science park together with the 6 new-media theatres and 2 artful basso-relievo corridors.
The theme ehibution halls are :
Spectrum of Life, Earth Exploration, AV Paradise, Children's Science Land, Light of Wisdom, Cradle of Design, Home on Earth, Information Era, World of Robots, Light of Exploration, Human and Health, Space Navigation. Location of the halls you can see on SSTM guide map.
In addition to the 12 halls there are 4 scientific theatres : a space theatre, 2 IMAX 3D cinemas and an Iwerks 4D-theatre, which unites usual 3D technology with the addition of environmental effects such as moving seats, water spray rain simulations, air blowing through the cinema like wind and even leg-ticklers build into the seats. The 4 theatres require additional payment (20-40 RMB for adults depending on theatre and seance).
A remark concerning tickets. If you want to leave the museum and then return (same day), go to special turnstile with scanner. Place your palm on the scaner and pass out. On the way back do it the same. Scanner recognize you and let you in.
