Black box shows the original size of 2x4 cut/carved to fit. Red
line shows location where 2x4 was ripped to separate right and left knee
hooks. Blue sketch is overall shape of finished knee hook.
I really like these knee hooks, but I plan to cut off part of the inside
to give me a new flat surface to glue an extension to. They're just
a tad too shallow--I need more "grab"!
I sawed off
a flat spot on the bottom of my previous carved knee hooks to glue additional
redwood blocks to.
I want the kind of deep hook and control I have with my old Perception
Whitewater boat. Note the generous use of Silver, Fiber-Reinforced
Adhesive Strip. ("Duct tape")
All outfitted...I even found some canvas-covered neoprene to go with
the style of the wooden boat!!
Joe Greenley's King knee hooks are nicer. (See left photo)
