                                               THE OFFICIALLY LISTED PEAKS IN THE NNFR

  * Mt. Silay (5,033 ft.)
                    - situated East of Victorias City, it is a dormant volcano. The logging operations
     that were banned in th early eaighties weren't able to penetrate in most of the region of
     Silay hence most of its forest remain virgin. It has very steep slopes, most prominently
     the South Face on the East Wall (the former obssession of the SB that attempted to
     conquer it twice). The SB called the peak of the South Face as the Makawili which was
     successfully climbed on August 29, 1999 after the first attempt in October 1998. The true
     summit of Mt. Silay is Dinamlagan Peak which was climbed by the SB on October 3,
     1998.

  * Mt. Mandalagan (6,168 ft.)
                    - the tallest in the NNFR, it is surrounded by mossy dipterocarps and dangerous
     precipices; it remains unclimbed. Allegedly, a mountaineering attempt in 1997 or 1998
     from the East failed. The SB is contemplating a partly technical climb of it on the West.
     The planned 8-day climb uses Sulfatara as Base Camp. Mt. Mandalagan is called by some               Patag guides as Marapara Daku.

  * Sicaba Diutay Peak (5,038 ft.)
                    - not yet climbed by mountaineers. Most ideal approach is in Gawahon and Base
     Camp could be set up in Ubak Valley in the East of Mt. Gawahon. The SB nearly climbed
      its peak while on the way to the high-elevation valley of Upper Sicaba Basin in 1999. The SB,         particularly D.S. Ella doubts its position in the 1956 "Rodol Map" . This map places Sicaba            Diutay to the Southeast of Mt. Silay (a.k.a. Dinamlagan) ; there is no such prominent peak            about the elevation of Dinamlagan in the position referred to in the map as observed in actual        mountaineering.

  * Sicaba Daku Peak (4,528 ft.)
                    - By all indications, this is the Sewahon Peak (some locals call it `Pal-it') which was          climbed by the SB on August 31, 1999 (a First Ascent). Steep mountainsides and psycholo-
     gical barriers (the mountain is surrounded by mystical legends) prevented any attempt of
     it for a very long time. The loggers spared it for its absence of commercially viable source
     of hardwood except at its lower slopes.

  * Lantawan Peak ( 3,440 ft.)
                    - not yet climbed by mountaineers. The SB has very little idea about this peak
     in the northeast of the mountain region of the island of Negros.. A probable approach could be       started from Kaduha-an in Cadiz City.

                                                              OTHER NOTABLE PEAKS

  * Mt. Marapara (about 6,000 ft.)
                    - sometimes called Marapara-Diutay or Lesser Marapara in relations to its greater
    neighbor, Mt. Mandalgan (also Marapara Daku or Greater Marapara). The BBMS is credited
    for the first mountaineering climb on its summit in, most likely, the late eighties. It has an
    established 4-hour trail starting from Patag in the West. Its West Wall is very steep and is
    thickly covered by `bariw'.

  * Calaptan Peak (4,802 ft.) ~
                     - situated in Canlusong, E.B. Magalona, it is first climbed by the SB on September
     21, 1998 through the Southwest Slopes and the thin West Ridge of the summit. It has a twin
     peak to the southwest. Mostly second-growth forest cover this mountain which has already
     claim a lot of victims who couldn't find their way in its forest.

  * Gawahon Peak (about 4,700 ft.)
                      - sharing the same South-North ridgeline with Calaptan, it is situated in Gawahon,
     Victorias City. The SB climbed it on October 2, 1998 through the easy Northwest Ridge.
.
  * West Pinnacle (about 4,500 ft.)
                     - the high point of the Dinamlagan Southeast Ridge, it was first climbed (mistaking
     it for Makawili Peak) by the SB on October 16, 1998 during the first attempt of the South
     Face.

  * Makawili Peak - Silay Range (about 4,500 ft.)
                     - the pinnacle on the East Wall of Mount Silay, it was climbed by the SB on
      August 29, 1999 during the second attempt of the South Face. The East Wall particularly
      in the steep 3,500-foot South Face has several butresses - Naathagan, Central and Right
      Butress Ridge to name a few. The Central Butress which is right below the pinnacle has
      a prominent rock cliff.

  *  Makawili Peak -Mandalagan Range (about 4,600 ft.)
                      - the prominent peak commanding the northern view of Kampuestuhan, this
     mountain was climbed through the steep south wall by the RAMS in 1999.

  * Tingtingon Daku (               ft.)
                       - situated east of Calaptan and north of Mandalagan, this peak, together with its
      twin, Tingtingon Diutay, has yet to be recconnoietered by the SB. In all likelihood, no
      mountaineers has ever climbed it yet.
