- Extreme Sports Apparel for Women |
Mud
Honey MX has
expanded into the fiercely competitive world of women’s fashion
clothing. Previously known for producing high quality riding
garments, they have now added a casual street wear range. Coinciding
with the launch of their new online store, owner Roxanne Paynter is
clearly excited. “We have had an overwhelmingly enthusiastic
response to the new lines and can’t wait for the general public to
see the new styles,” says Roxanne.
The
new range includes t-shirts, singlets, long sleeve tops, fleece
hoodies and track pants. “The idea was to reflect the lifestyle of
girls into extreme sports, girls who like to live a little,
something with street appeal”, says Roxanne. “We didn’t stop
with casual gear, we have included intimate apparel, to which the
guys have shown their appreciation as well.”
The
signature Mud Honey MX high performance garments are as popular as
ever, and are now chosen by some of the leading names in women’s
mx , bmx and offroad racing.
For
further information on off road racers Rosie and Leigh Lalaonde, or
mx sponsored rider Kristy Gillespie, contact Roxanne on 0418 780

- Introducing the MCS Australian Factory Team |
The wait is over.
Sunday the 12th of February proved to be a wet
re-introduction into Australia for the new team MCS factory team but
the show had to go on. The 2007 five-member factory team is as
follows:
Jacob
Griffiths (8 Boys, Nerang, Qld)
Jacob is the youngest and the quietest of the team. If you’re in
the south Queensland region look out for Jacob holeshotting from the
gate on his new “Spider” junior frame.
Shane
Austin (11 Boys, Macarthur, NSW)
Shane Austin comes from the western Sydney club of Macarthur. Shane
is smooth and loves technical tracks, which is why he is the current
NSW champion on 20” and #2 on cruiser. Shane will be riding a “Holeshot”
expert frame.
Shane excelled in the muddy weekend conditions at Liverpool to win
the 10 Boys from W6 Kai Sakakibara from Japan.
Ryan
Henderson (15 Boy Champbikx / A Pro, Tuggeranong, ACT)
Ryan may not be as tall as most of the 15 Boys but he more than
makes up for it with speed and skills. Put a huge step, set of doub’s,
triples…. you name it, in front of him and he’ll hit it up on
his “Tracer Pro”.
On Saturday Ryan
finished fourth in 15 Boys Champbikx and now stands in equal 5th
place on the tour. On Sunday in the mud Ryan took third in 14 Boys
and missed the A Pro finals after a mega close run-off.
Ashleigh
Cragg (15 Girls Champbikx / A Pro, Canberra, ACT)
Ashleigh Cragg is a multiple NSW and ACT state champion and now
rides a MCS “Tracer Pro”. At the 2006 Victorian State
Championships Ashleigh rode up in the AA Women and finished on the
podium in third. Not bad for a 14 year old.
Ash sits in third
place at the half way mark of the 15 Girls Champbikx tour and showed
great consistency by finishing third on Saturday. Sunday was even
better for Ash when she won both the 15 Girls and A Pro Women.
Paull
McLaughlin (30+ Men, Lake Macquarie, NSW)
Paull McLaughlin comes into the team with over 15 years racing
experience and multiple state titles under his belt. Paull’s rides
are a “Speed Freak Pro XL” and “Magnum” cruiser. Paull is
also a level III qualified coach and the current NSW and Australian
coach of the year.
With an unlucky
crash and one bad race Paull had to settle for second on 20” and
third on cruiser. |

- MCS is Back in Australia |
After
a ten year absence from the Australian BMX scene MCS Bicycles are
back. Back once again and looking to make up for lost time. The new
importer and distributor is A1 Bikes out of Goulburn, NSW.
Watch
out next week for the official launch of MCS Australia at Liverpool’s
round five of the national Probikx tour. The official launch will
include a pro shop displaying complete bikes and the announcement of
the first Australian MCS factory team in over ten years.
For
those new to the sport, MCS hail from the USA and have over thirty
years experience in frame and BMX component manufacturing. MCS bikes
have been holeshotting throughout the world for decades and now it
is Australia’s turn. Those with a keen memory will remember MCS
sponsoring Australian riders such as Luke Madill, Troy Fisher and
former world champion Justin Ransom during the early 1990’s. The
world team were also trade team champions at the 1990 France World
Championships.
MCS
offers a full range of junior through to pro XL sized frames in an
assortment of
colours. And who could forget the legendary Mantis frame. The Mantis
frame gets its name from the praying mantis and is the baby of the
MCS range. The Mantis is a mini frame with a curved top tube for an
easy step through for Sprocket Rocket riders.
To
find out more about the history and the full range of MCS frames,
completes, components and accessories check out www.mcsbicycles.com.
