Personnel File - Crusher, Doctor Beverly
Married Life | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
After they were marrried in 2348, Beverly and Jack had one son, Wesley Robert Crusher (2349). They lived in San Francisco but Jack can't have been home much because he was on the Stargazer. When he was home he taught Wesley to play baseball. Wesley's first real friend was a warp coil. (?)
Beverly completed Medical school in 2350 so was a fully fledged Starfleet officer, although didn't begin her internship until 2352. She interned under Doctor Dalen Quaice on planet Delos IV - she must have taken Wesley with her there for a while since Jack was too busy on the Stargazer to look after him. Nobody is quite sure what Beverly did between 2352-2364. She probably wasn't posted on a ship since other TNG crewmen who had previous posts had them mentioned, so the best guess is that she worked at Starfleet Medical for a time, which might be why they were eager to have her back there as head. One non-canon theory is that she worked in a (or had her own) medical practice in San Francisco. Jack died in an accident on board the Stargazer in 2354 when Wes was only five years old. Again read Death in Winter for more detail on a possible version of events.involving EVA and a warp nacelle. Jean-Luc personally visited Beverly to tell her of the tragedy and take Jack's body home, and then went with her to see the body in the morgue, although he was concerned about this last action, as he didn't want Beverly to remember Jack as a lifeless corpse. They went anyway. |

2354 - 2364 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
All that various sources say is that Beverly 'continued to pursue her Starfleet career' after Jack's death but again it's never clear exactly what she did in Starfleet. All previous space-faring assignments of other TNG crewmen have been revealed, so logic dictates that if Beverly had had a post on a ship it would have been mentioned. It is possible she served at Starfleet Medical doing God knows what. At some time during this period she moved up the ranks to Lieutnenant Commander. Non-canon material says she worked at a medical practice until 2364 when she transferred on to the Enterprise. Beverly kept herself busy outside of work, however, by writing and performing plays, her love of theatre having started in her young life. In 2362 Beverly took and passed her bridge officer's exam and was promoted to the rank of Commander. |

On the Enterprise-D | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In 2364, Beverly attained the position of Chief Medical Officer on the USS Enterprise-NCC-1701-D under Captain Jean-Luc Picard. He asked that she consider a transfer, thinking that the two of them would find it awkward after what happened with Jack ( and after he totally embarassed himself by staring speechless at her in front of the bridge crew) but after finding out she requested to serve under him he let the subjuect drop. More info coming later - I haven't got enough time to type it all up at once! Trust me, everything from TNG involving Beverly will be on here. That's almost every episode!! Just come back later and keep comin' back! |
