Sifnos is famous for potery for hundreds of years.Beautiful pieces of art and and objects for everyday life have been created here. In most of the villages somebody could found workshops. Faros, Vathi and Platis Gialos use to be the most famous. A typical "Sifnos" piece of potery is "flaros".We use it for chimney top and has three openings that points the wind direction. Also lots of cooking dishes ,tea cups, ashtreys, candle holders are produced. Today Sifnos workshops are keeping the tradition and they offer also lots of beautiful miniatures and souvenirs. |
