HEAVEN SCENT

a love story in verse

by Rico Leffanta

To facilitate reading this story, the narration is plain black text,
Rhiannon's verses are pink italic,
and Rurik's verses are blue bold.
(Reading aloud is best with a lover)

Rurik and Rhiannon were lovers
Before the dawn of Eternity
Before the creation of Heaven
Before angels and time came to be

Love is a passion to be expressed
And here lies the most tragic of tales:
Rurik was born first King of Russia
But Rhiannon, the first Queen of Wales!

And so the centuries passed them by
Leaving their love unexpressed but true
Until they met in Belfast one day
In Nineteen hundred and ninety-two:

This is the dream I have dreamed every night
From the very first time you kissed me:

I am a flower
You are the sun
I live in darkness
Dawn has begun
Your warmth excites me
Some drops of dew
Pink petals open
Yearning for you
A tempest sways me
A river flows
My petals are gone!
A cold wind blows....

Oh, Rurik, in the hours before dawn
Can you honestly say you don't miss me?

* * * *

My heart pounds like a cannon
When I see you Rhiannon!
It gallops when you're standing by my side
For my life to endure
There can be but one cure:
Rhiannon, will you be my beautiful bride?

* * * *

Before God and man
I declare my love for you
And I vow to be your wife
With these sacred words
"I do!"

* * * *

Before God and man
I declare my love for you
And vow to be your husband
With these sacred words
"I do!"

* * * *

Rurik, my own Rurik,
When we were walking down the aisle
I realised that you were mine
And the next few steps seemed like a mile

And that photographer!
He snapped the rice as it showered
But ignored my flying bouquet
As if to catch the bride deflowered!

And our reception!
Did you ever see such a show?
And all those friends and relatives
So determined we should not go?

Rurik, my own Rurik,
When you carried me to our bed
I heard my heart beat with your own
And thanked all the gods that we were wed!

* * * *

It has often been said
That God is Light
And is so very brilliant
We can't behold His sight

But I just can't believe
That He could be as bright
As you in your bridal gown
Of the most angelic white

Angels in Heaven know
I shook with fright
That you, their vestal beauty,
Might suddenly take flight

Then you came to join me
In man's most sacred rite
Our vows sailed through the air
And I felt our souls unite

"Husband" is given me
But not yet quite
First I must defile your flesh
Yet bring you some delight

Because I adore you
I dread this human plight
Pray God grant me the talent
To love His angel tonight!

* * * *

While you were still sleeping
I woke up to find
The moonlight on your face
As if proving you were kind

Kind and soft and tender
Your lips upon my breast
Strong and hard your phallus
'til it found its "home" and rest

I want you for breakfast
For lunch and for tea
I want you forever
Never think of leaving me!

* * * *

Even asleep you are more beautiful
Than any of God's creations
Just the rise and fall of each tiny breath
Awakens in me the wildest sensations!

While you lie there in naked splendour
My soul is lost in commotion
For as much as I long to adore you
My flesh responds with the basest emotion

How can I resist you, Rhiannon,
When your soul is entwined with mine
And the cloak of your beautiful spirit
Sends the feelings I feel beyond the divine?

I cannot resist you, Rhiannon!
I must pay homage to your flesh
Forgive me for disturbing your sleep
But now is the moment our bodies MUST mesh!

* * * *

To wake with you inside me
Is a joy I've never known
What strange pleasure rippled through me
When the seeds from your soul were sown!

It seems that when you love me
My sense of being has flown
My mind and flesh just desert me
I exist in your love alone

Because this rapture blinds me
To the flesh which is my own
Do I love back as you love me
Or just lie here like sculpted stone?

Rurik, my darling, help me
With each thrust my lust has grown
Please take some time to teach me
How my love for you can be shown!

* * * *

You have raised a fire within me
For you are the spark of life
The ember to my passions
The flame of an ardent wife

You have enkindled within me
That rare and divine warm glow
One savours with those memories
Too old for the mind to know

You have lit a torch inside me
It burns with flagrant desire
And nothing can extinguish it
For love is eternal fire

But, darling, you are an angel
Even though you are on earth
I can't let you make love to me
You're more than my flesh is worth!

* * * *

You always say that I am an angel
But Rurik, you know that isn't true
Through the grace of God I have a body
Which exists to make love with you

Examine the sensations of your soul
You'll find sex is the only trait
Where we can entwine with what we adore
Without forsaking our mortal state

You already know that what we admire
Is a reflection of what we are
Or an expression of what we conceal
Or the future disguised like a star

To entwine with all these affinities
We revert to the spiritual plane
For we cannot merge with a single thing
That does not belong to our domain

We cannot thank God for the gift of life
By ignoring our flesh as we pray
So help me show Him how grateful we are
Please let me make love to you today!

* * * *

A rose from the Garden of Eden
Held a splendour which could not decay
Now this blessing has passed on to you
You grow more beautiful with each day

The beauty of your sparkling eyes
Eclipse their lustre of last night
And now your flesh appears to glow
In rainbow hues of angel light

Enthralled by such angelic beauty -
Like a priest who kneels at the font -
Its enough to know I am near you,
And being near you is all I want

* * * *

I can't describe the pleasure
I felt when your phallus rose
To kiss my cheek this morning
When I peeked at it in repose.

How can this tender phallus
Strike such an arrogant pose
Without your even knowing
The passion it stands to impose?

The sight of it just thrills me
Its pulse makes me curl my toes
How can you hide such power
Underneath the folds of your clothes?

Your phallus shares a secret
'tis my pleasure to disclose
I kissed it back this morning
I don't care if the whole world knows!

* * * *

If I could express my feelings
As easily as I feel
You would understand at once
How your love makes my senses reel

When your lips first touched my phallus
The sensation rocked my soul
And when your tongue caressed it
My body went out of control

And yet you savoured its flavour
As if drinking sacred wine
Such pleasure rippled through me....
Like an unbridled libertine

Oh God! My darling, Rhiannon
Could I ever love so much?
My soul is lost in chaos
My body craves only your touch!

* * * *

To me it is plain that I am mundane
And you are the one who's romantic
So please understand, though my words aren't grand,
That phallus of yours drives me frantic!

It sleeps like a log, turns fierce like a dog,
Then blushes and winks with shy vigour
Like an errant knight, it charges on sight
To shoot like a gun with no trigger!

Its soft on my cheek, but my knees go weak
When it changes from dwarf to giant
Or stands up so proud in a milky cloud
Like a martyr dying defiant!

It wriggles, it bends, it sings as it spends
Its more fun than a favourite toy
Yet it lives and breathes and aims to please
'til I'm lost in voluptuous joy.

But now let me say, and in your own way,
When I tasted your sweet eau de vie
Though it may sound odd, 'tis the wine of God
Which flows through your phallus to me!

* * * *

Blow upon my magic flute
And hear the Song of Sighs
A song as ancient as mankind
A song that echoes in your thighs

Blow upon my magic flute
And feel the joy of flesh
A joy as ancient as mankind
A joy where soul and body mesh

Blow upon my magic flute
And drink le vin de vie
A wine as ancient as mankind
A wine of immortality

Blow upon my magic flute
And sing the Song of Sighs
A song as ancient as mankind
A song of love that never dies

* * * *

If music soothes the savage heart
You can tell what it does to mine
For I shall gladly sing your song
And drink all of your heavenly wine

Forever is not long enough
For me to love you as I do
All the years we spend together
Can only number much too few

Perhaps the words I want to use
Have never been uttered before
But darling Rurik, I love you
And no one could love you more!

* * * *

We cannot choose whom we shall love
But only whom we shall wed
That choice is confused by sentiment
Or lust for each other in bed

Yet somewhere in this myriad
We begin our mortal quest
To sort from people we think we love
The one we have always loved best

How fortunate we are, my love,
To find each other so soon
For when beauty and youth have faded
Love burns bright, but cold like the moon

And without the warmth in your kiss
Or youthful glow to your breast
Could I begin to love you enough
For this soul of mine to find rest?

A million years from now, my love,
I'll still hunger for your kiss
And all the love we send through time today
Shall then return this moment's bliss.

* * * *

In my dreams you love me
Softly, like two feathers
Dancing in the wind
Whispering their caresses
As the quills spiral down
And our souls ascend
But dreams can not compare
With the natural music
Of your phallus
When it serenades my soul
To pump the Wine of God
Into my chalice
So love me one more time
Let me feel you inside
As I go to sleep
And imprison forever
This most precious moment
For my soul to keep

* * * *

When I look into your eyes
I see the dreams that we can live
Hear the songs our hearts can sing
Touch the love we have to give
And I feel some special thing
Which draws me through your flesh
So like an angel's hair entwined
Through a statue praising grace
With each curvature defined
As if sculpture spun from lace
Yet it wends its way beyond
To swirling depths I do not know
Spinning strands I cannot see
In an ethereal glow
Where one-half of you is me
If its true that we are one
Why does my heart beat all alone
And my breath resound in sighs
And my voice become a moan
When I look into your eyes?

* * * *

To love you is to walk on air
Hearing music everywhere
Feeling Springtime all the year
Seeing rainbows in each tear

To love you is to touch that spark
Which separates the light from dark
Sharing pleasures at their source
Feeling all of passion's force

To love you is to be as one
With earth, the moon, the stars and sun
Living dreams as they come true
Loving to live, just for you!

* * * *

The wind sweeps through a meadow
Caressing each blade of grass
Though I may sense its presence
My eyes cannot see it pass

I cannot see that One Force
Which propels the stars above
Or brings the seasons in time
Or starts the feeling of love

The world holds many wonders
But this I find the most odd:
It is only in your eyes
I can catch a glimpse of God

* * * *

Love is a wonderful thing
For in a miraculous way
It expands beyond each border
Set on the previous day

Though it seems impossible
To love you much more than I do
With every passing moment
I fall more in love with you

Last night our climax of love
Touched a peak so serene and wild
That even the eye of my mind
Knew I now carried your child

As joy careens inside me
I know this conception is true:
Love has expanded its borders
So now I love two of you!

* * * *

No one would ever believe
The time we spend making love
In touching, tasting, feeling
Delights never known up above

Each crevice of your body
Reveals a passion so fair
That your whole body glistens
Like the highlights in your hair

In whiteness or by beauty
The domes of the Sacre-Coeur
Could not inspire the worship
The curve of your breasts infer

Your arms, your legs, your body
Flaunt the epitome of grace
Perfection is reflected
In the beauty of your face.

Yet hidden by this splendour
Lies a treasure w

Love, in Belfast, is out of season
Catholics and Protestants fight each day
Bombing and killing for just one reason:
Delete the innocent in their way.

Rurik and Rhiannon were murdered
Before their honeymoon had ended
Before their love had fully blossomed
Before the child that was intended

But as they lay together dying
Fingers entwined like a diadem
A song filled the air which came to be
Rurik and Rhiannon's requiem:

"I was born a tiny baby
In the middle of the night
But the body I was given
Was certainly not right

It was too small
No good at all
No matter what I tried
My body only cried

Through long years I trained it
To walk, to move, to speak
It never became proficient
It was always much too meek

And now my body is dying
It lived this life in vain
I took it just to love you
And there I failed again.

I don't know where I'm going
But it won't be far away
I must express my love for you
And I'll find a way.....someday......."
