She's Come Undone // Wally Lamb: "Mine is a story of craving: an unreliable account of lusts and troubles that began, somehow, in 1956 on the day our first television was delivered..." — Dolores Price, She's Come Undone This is an amazing story about emotional liberation--I suggest this to anyone that has been looking for an amazing page turner--I love books from Oprah's Book Club list!
The Lovely Bones // Alice Sebold: This is a story of a teenage girl who, after being brutally raped and murdered, watches from heaven as her family and friends go on with their lives, while she herself comes to terms with her own death. This novel's point of view is what makes it such a great read. There is a lot of emotional connections to the text that makes readers wonder what they would do in situations that arise from the book--it is without a doubt another amazing page turner.

The book I absolutely love is Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. I'm not really sure what that says about me, but the writing itself is exquisite and I admire how the author gets the reader to feel sympathy for such an undeserving protagonist. I was hooked with the first paragraph: "Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta."
