Joining the Big List

If you just want to lurk, then the Web archive is all you need - just check it every day to see what's going on. If you decide that you want to join in then you have to subscribe to the list, which is presently hosted by EMR Data Services (many thanks Bill!) who now also have a VS web page so check there if the instructions on the list don't work. As you will have noticed from the Web archive it can get very busy so PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE. If you find the constant stream of single mails too much then change to the digest mode (see below), in which case you will just get one big mail a day.

How to join the Big List:
(note that the only time that vs880 appears in the address is for posting messages)


To SUBSCRIBE to the list send an e-mail to: listserv@emrmail.com
In the BODY of the message include the following:
subscribe vs880 Your Name

To UNSUBSCRIBE from the list send an e-mail to: listserv@emrmail.com
In the BODY of the message include the following:
unsubscribe vs880 Your Name

To POST a message to the list send an e-mail to: vs880@emrmail.com

To receive help send an e-mail to: listserv@emrmail.com
In the BODY of the message include the following:
help vs880

To change to digest mode, send an e-mail to listserv@emrmail.com
In the BODY of the message include the following:
set mode digest vs880

To change back to standard mode, send an e-mail to listserv@emrmail.com
In the BODY of the message include the following:
set mode standard vs880

The name of the list is vs880 is for historical reasons, users of all VS models contribute to the list (many are 1680 users who upgraded from the original 880).
